Here It Is September!

Hello, all! Hard to believe it’s already September and Fall isn’t far away. Summer’s been full of ups and downs, it will be good to move on to a new season.   Here’s Zelda in slow motion, cooling off on a hot day:       We had some new arrivals from Fluffy and Smudge!         On a very sad note, all of our beautiful ducks were killed, probably by a fox. We’re beyond devastated! I’ve shown this “talking ducks” video before, but wanted to include it again in memory of our sweet duckies.       Thanks for stopping by, and please subscribe!       Share...

What’s Been Going On? A Lot!

If you’ve been stopping by now and then, I want to say thank you! I’ve been doing so many things and neglecting this blog. The main way I’ve been spending my time is by finally finishing a children’s story I started over 10 years ago! The title, as of now, is Dinosaur Gardens. I’ll be posting cover art very soon, so check back or even better, subscribe. That way you won’t miss anything. I will also be renovating this site so I can post about my writing. In the meantime, I have a photo and a few new videos to share. All the animals are doing well and we have a new addition: my older son’s kitten, Harley!   She was being fed at the local dump by my friend Jan. We’re so happy we were looking for a kitten at the...

A Lot Has Been Going On!

This will be a longer post, but I hope it makes up for the lack of posts lately! First, I haven’t mentioned before that I’m taking Dressage lessons twice a week. Here’s a picture from a recent lesson. Lakota is such a good boy. I used to be afraid of him! Ha ha!     Another horse-related announcement: I have a new project horse! Megamove has been retired from racing. He will be retrained by my riding teacher, Anna Toomey. We’re excited for a new challenge! Isn’t he a beauty?       Now that Fall is officially here, it has cooled down slightly. The animals have been outside more, enjoying themselves. Here’s Shade, trying to hide in the grass.   Monster is always up to something. I really can’t...

A Tale Of A Broken Horn, A Haircut, And An Early Morning Rocket Launch

Warning: Some readers may find parts of this post a bit upsetting! Poor Lexi, last week was a very difficult one for her. I went out in the evening, as usual, to feed the horses and goats and noticed Lexi hadn’t come up to the barn. This was very unusual for her, since she’s always the first one there. After calling and whistling for her, I went looking to see if she was caught on the fence or missing. Suddenly, she came across the field toward the barn, but something was wrong. Then I realized that she was flinging her head around and that one of her horns was flopping as she ran, banging her on the head at times. She was obviously in distress and I tried to get near her to help. Fortunately, she made it to the barn and I was able to catch her and...

Lots Of Summer Fun

I hope everyone is enjoying the last few weeks of official Summer. My human children started school once again. There’s quite a few animal videos in this post, their lives go on the same no matter what time of year it is!   Here’s Jack and Zelda, playing together on the front lawn. I’m not sure who’s winning!     It Isn’t Summer without playing in the pool.     As you can see, the ducks have really grown!!       Finally, here’s Zelda with the first skateboard we bought her. Either she’s suddenly afraid of it or she thinks barking at it will make it go.     That’s all for now! Thanks for stopping by and don’t forget to SUBSCRIBE.     Share...

Summer’s Almost Over, But We’ve Been Busier Than Ever!

It’s hard to believe Summer vacation is almost over. It will be nice to get back to a set schedule, but it isn’t easy to let go of those unscheduled, lazy days! The chickens have been growing and establishing their pecking order. Gandalf is the clear winner in the Rooster group. He’s a good leader and looks out well after his little flock.  Unfortunately he and Spike never came to an agreement, so after a nasty, cutthroat fight, Spike was moved to his own pen nearby.       Typical for Summer in Florida, it has been raining non-stop most days! Zelda really doesn’t mind running outside quick for her potty stops, but I love buying her doggy clothes and she doesn’t seem to mind too much. Doesn’t she look cute?  ...

A Special Surprise!

I have exciting news today. I’ve joined a group of like-minded writers this past week. They’re all very nice and encouraging, we’re hoping to help each other get writing done and, ultimately, get published! More about that later. Right now, I’d like you to welcome our group Admin, Ted Roach. He’s nicely agreed to be my first guest blogger. Be sure to check out his site and give him some feedback! Enjoy:     Animal Lovers have a BIGGER heart! When Robin reluctantly agreed to let me provide a guest post to her blog, the same topic kept coming to mind. The influence that our four legged children have on our lives impacts the way we handle many situations. Those who do not have animals in their lives have a difficult time...
