Horses In The Rain

It feels like the rain will never end!

It feels like the rain will never end!

We had steady rain for 12 hours straight last Thursday. Of course, Gum Drop stood out in it the whole time. Trouble was out for most of it.

Nikki really surprised me, since she normally heads for the barn area as soon as the first drop hits her. When the temperature started dropping, I worried they all might get hypothermia from being wet and getting chilled. Gum Drop has had it twice because she likes to stand out in it, and often digs holes in the wet ground.

Fortunately the temp stayed reasonable, and, although they were all pretty dirty, they were all fine in the morning. Has anyone else ever had trouble with their pasture pets in the rain?
