The Chicks At Two Weeks Old

All My Chicks!

All My Chicks!

These babies sure are growing fast! They’re starting to get their wing feathers and their personalities are also starting to show. In the photo, from the left, are Spike, Bossy on the perch, the unnamed Black Frizzle behind her, our one Mille Fleur (hoping for a rooster!), Spot, the unnamed White Frizzle, and Ash in the front.

Ash

Ash is very bossy already, I think he might be a rooster. He’s the first one to come forward and is always between the front of the box where I look at them, and the rest of the chicks. I’ve also seem him stand up as tall as he can and stare or jump at another chick.

Spot And Spike

Spot And Spike

Spike is a bit bossy like Ash, but not as aggressive, so I think he may be a rooster, also. Spot is more afraid and nervous, so I’m guessing maybe a hen. They are both Mottled chickens.

We haven’t picked a name for this one yet. Really hoping for a rooster, so we want to wait and see before we pick a name, in case we need a manly name!

Here’s a little video of them all in action. They’re such funny little things!
