We’re Getting Chicks!

No, not female humans, baby chickens!! My friend Marie breeds Bantam Cochin chickens and she recently gave me 10 fertilized eggs to put in an incubator. We are so excited!!! I put them in the incubator March 9, Monday night. It takes 21 days for the embryos to grow and hatch.

Hope ours look something like this!

So know we have to wait. 21 days isn’t that long, but it seems like forever when you’re waiting for something good to happen. Here’s a picture of the tiny eggs in an egg carton:

Be sure to keep checking on our progress. Tuesday night will be the first check, by candling the eggs, to see if any embryos have formed inside the eggs.
